Transport + Accessibility
Accessibility
Mountain Festival is committed to creating an accessible, equitable, inclusive and safe festival so that everyone has a great experience, regardless of ability.
Our Accessibility and Inclusion Plan ensures that we consider the needs of all our community and we will regularly review and improve the plan based on feedback from our festival patrons. For full details or any accessibility questions, please contact us.
All festival hub venues are within five minutes walk of each other on footpaths with some gravel pathways.
Parking
There is plenty of free parking at the Macedon Railway station (a 5-minute walk to the festival hub).
There are also a limited number of disabled car parking spaces at the festival hub, which you can book in advance. Please contact us by email to request a parking reservation.
EV Charging Station
There is a rapid 50kW DC charging station on the corner of Smith and Victoria Streets, opposite the pub, outside the station (near the public toilets).
Cycling
Feel free to cycle to the event. There's plenty of space to secure your bike for the day.
Train
Macedon Station is less than an hour away from Melbourne’s Southern Cross Station.
Public transport timetables can be found at www.ptv.vic.gov.au. V/Line’s fast-rail service between Melbourne and Bendigo stops at Clarkefield, Riddells Creek, Gisborne, Macedon, Woodend, Kyneton and Malmsbury. Approximate travel times are: Southern Cross to Macedon (55 minutes) | Bendigo to Macedon (70 mins)
Accessibility on Vline services
From the PTV website:
"All V/Line stations are accessible for customers with mobility aids and most of our trains can be accessed via a portable ramp that our conductors operate. Most V/Line coaches on scheduled services have a lift and an allocated space for customers with mobility aids.
If you require special assistance or you have any concerns, please call 1800 800 007 (6am-midnight) to discuss your needs before you travel. If required, we will make alternative travel arrangements for you as long as your mobility aids meets the dimension requirements.
Conductors and station staff are available to assist you throughout your journey.
