    Wednesday 7th and Tuesday 13th of November 7.30pm - 9.30pm

  2. In person rehearsals at Mount Players Theatre, Macedon

    Thursday 21st and Friday 22nd November (9am - 5pm)

Performances

  1. Saturday 23 November 1.30pm, 4.30pm and 7.30pm

  2. Sunday 24 November 1.30pm and 4.00pm

Note - as this is a play reading, we will consider actors that are outside the ages of the character breakdown.

  • Shane Jacobson

    Cast

    Shane Jacobson is an award-winning actor, presenter, producer and entertainer. His incredible and varied career spans over 40 years both here at home and internationally.

     Shane began performing on stage at the age of 8, but it was the successful film Kenny brought Shane world-wide recognition as well as an AFI Award for best lead actor. Shane’s career has seen him star in subsequent credits including: Cactus with  BRYAN BROWN, Charlie & Boots with PAUL HOGAN, Hollywood blockbuster The Bourne Legacy with JEREMY RENNER, EDWARD NORTON and Academy Award winner RACHEL WEISZ, Surviving Georgia with PIA MIRANDA and HOLLY VALLANCE,  the hugely popular Oddball with SARAH SNOOK and DEBORAH MAILMAN, The Dressmaker with KATE WINSLET, JUDY DAVIS, LIAM HEMSWORTH and HUGO WEAVING, 7 Guardians of the Tomb with KELSEY GRAMMER, The BBQ with MAGDA SZUBANKSI, That’s Not My Dog!, Brothers’ Nest with his brother CLAYTON JACOBSON, Bruce Beresford’s Ladies in Black and The Very Excellent Mr Dundee with PAUL HOGAN, CHEVY CHASE and JOHN CLEESE and Never Too Late with JAMES CROMWELL, JACKI WEAVER and JACK THOMPSON. Shane has just recently finished shooting another feature film: The Deb with REBEL WILSON.

    As a TV Host, presenter and actor, Shane’s appearances have been numerous and varied.  Some of his shows have included hosting and presenting at the Australian Film Institute Awards AACTA Awards, The Logies, Top Gear Australia, The Great Australian Bake Off, Little Big Shots, The All New Monty and Mates on a Mission, a judge on Australia’s Got Talent  as well as telemovies:  BeaconsfieldThe Mystery of the Hansom Cab and Jack Irish with GUY PEARCE , to roles in TV series like Kenny’s WorldThe Time of Our Lives and Fat Tony.

    Shane’s stage career has been just as successful. On stage, he has received a Helpmann Award for Best Male in a Supporting Role for ‘Nicely Nicely’ in the 2008 revival of the musical Guys and Dolls. Some of Shane’s other on-stage roles include: The Drowsy ChaperoneQI Live with STEPHEN FRY, 8 The PlayShane Warne – The Musical and Mother & Son with NOELINE BROWN, The Rocky Horror Show and Hairspray and The Odd Couple with TODD MCKENNEY and Midnight: The Cinderella Musical with LUCY DURACK.

    As an author, Shane has penned his best-selling bio The Long Road to Overnight Success and his exploration of his life as a motoring tragic in his second book, Rev Head.

    Shane also is a passionate Producer of film, television, and events. He has produced The West Gate Bridge Disaster: The Untold Stories documentary, the TV show: ManSpace, That’s Not My Dog! comedy festival and The Roast of Paul Hogan and The Australian Roast of John Cleese.

  • Pia Miranda

    Cast

    Pia Miranda is one of Australia’s best-loved and critically acclaimed actors. Since bursting onto the big screen in the much-loved film Looking for Alibrandi, Pia has become part of Australian film and television history. Pia’s acting roles include Heat, Neighbours, the hit series The Secret Life of Us, Sea Patrol, Mustangs FC, and the acclaimed Foxtel female-driven prison drama Wentworth. Pia has recently published her first book, a memoir called Finding My Bella Vita.

  • Iain Sinclair

    Director

    Iain is an award-winning mainstage theatre director and dramaturg. He is a graduate of The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and Kings College London's Masters program and has directed for most of Australia's leading companies.

    Recent work includes The Caretaker by Harold Pinter at The Ensemble Theatre, Berlin by Joanna Murray Smith and A View from the Bridge by Arthur Miller at MTC. He is also the 2020 winner of a Green Room Award for best director

  • Kate Rice

    Playwright

    Kate Rice is an award-winning Australian playwright with a PhD in ethical creative process for theatre based on real events. Her plays SWEETEST THINGS, based on a real sexual assault case, and MONOLOGUE FOR A MURDERER, about a high school shooting in Germany, were both nominated for national AWGIE awards for theatre.

    She has researched and written plays about senior immigrants’ experiences, an online flame war in the amateur theatre community and historical cultural conflict across the Top End. She has written several youth theatre projects in collaboration with young people which continue to be performed in schools around Australia.

    Her work has been commissioned by Melbourne City of Literature, Curtin University, Deckchair Theatre Company, Barking Gecko Theatre Company, Darwin Theatre Company, Darwin High School and Corrugated Iron Youth Arts. In 2020 she was awarded the inaugural Frank Van Straten Fellowship at the Australian Performing Arts Collection to create the docu-drama podcast series PERFORMING THE PAST.
