Jaye Kranz

Jaye Kranz is a queer poet, writer and documentary audio maker living on the unceded lands of the Wurundjeri Woi-Wurrung people in Naarm. She won the 2025 Plaza Prize for Poetry, judged by Natalie Diaz. and was a finalist for Poetry International's C. P Cavafy Prize.

Her poems have appeared or are forthcoming in: Best of Australian Poems, The Kenyon Review, Oxford Poetry, Australian Book Review, New Ohio Review, Poetry Northwest, The Cincinnati Review, West Branch, The Marrow Poetry, and Cordite, among others.

Her award-winning sound-rich audio features have been commissioned for BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio 3, ABC Radio National, Arts Centre Melbourne, and the State Library of Victoria.

Her album, The Wolves, released under her moniker Brighter Later, was nominated for the Australian Music Prize.

She co-curates Falling Awake, an occasional poetry reading series in Naarm. Her debut poetry collection is due for publication in 2028.
